Portland Chamber Orchestra's mission is "to provide an extraordinary musical experience through an imaginative fusion of the arts." Founded in 1946, PCO is a well established ensemble of 30+ professional musicians, dedicated to playing a broad repertoire of orchestral classical music from Baroque to 21st century world premiers. Under the artistic direction of Maestro Yaacov Bergman since 2001, the Orchestra's annual season consists of at least three programs performed at Reed College's Kaul Auditorium and other venues throughout the region. Mr. Bergman has also introduced strong collaborations with other artists and media over the past five seasons, including film, dance, puppetry and commissioned paintings in some of the programming.
Position summary: Portland Chamber Orchestra is seeking an entrepreneurial leader who knows how to work independently and also enjoys collaborating with the Board and artistic director. This is a new position, funded for the first two years by capacity building grants awarded by the Miller and Collins Foundations. The General Manager will be the hub of the organization, leading the implementation of PCO's mission and strategic plan, while carrying out a wide range of operational and administrative duties under the direction of the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities
include
· Fund development and grant management
· Marketing/public relations
· Budgeting, book keeping and asset management; database and IT management
· Assistance with concert logistics/administration
Qualifications,
education and experience
· Minimum two years' experience demonstrating some combination of marketing,
fund development and/or administration
· Competence with core computer skills, e.g., WORD, Excel, QuickBooks.
· Otherwise, no specific qualifications, education or experience are
absolutely required
