BRUCE BROWNE
BRUCE BROWNE is Professor of Music and Chair of the Vocal and Choral Area at Portland State University. His is also founder and Director of Portland's first professional choir, Choral Cross-Ties.

Browne was named Teacher of the Year at his University in 1986, and is former President of Northwest Division of the American Choral Directors Association . He has been awarded sabbaticals to teach in Guadalajara and in London, and has been Visiting Professor at University of Iowa.

He has been jurist /clinician or guest conductor in virtually every region of the country, and in Germany, Spain, Estonia, England and Mexico. He has served on panels for the National Endowment of the Arts. Browne has been guest conductor for the Edmonton, Alberta Pro Coro Canada and the Phoenix Bach Choir of Arizona.

In 2001, Browne guest conducted at Carnegie Hall (June) and in the Prague Fesuly..

In 2003, and 2004 Browne's choirs were received with standing ovations at the ACDA National Convention in Carnegie Hall, and the MENC National Convention in Minneapolis, respectively
